Why is the VeriSign Seal Being Updated?

In August of 2010, Symantec acquired VeriSign Authentication Services including VeriSign SSL Certificates and the VeriSign Trust Seal. These leading website security products are now provided by Symantec. In spring 2012, Symantec will complete the transition of VeriSign offerings into its Norton security products family. The VeriSign Seal that website visitors know and trust will be renamed the Norton Secured Seal. The Norton Secured Seal in search results and on your website, plus Norton in the green address bar for Extended Validation users, will bring that sense of protection to websites secured and authenticated by Symantec.

How is the VeriSign Seal going to change?

The VeriSign Checkmark, part of the most recognized trust mark on the Internet, will be combined with the leading name in personal technology protection, Norton, and become the Norton Secured Seal. Consumer tests by Symantec show that the Norton Secured Seal retains the high level of recognition and trust that VeriSign seal posters value.

When will the VeriSign seal be updated to the Norton Secured Seal?

In April 2012, Symantec will automatically update the VeriSign trust seal to the Norton Secured Seal, combining the power of the VeriSign Checkmark with the value of the Norton name. This assures your visitors that your website is safe-from search to browse to buy.

What do I have to do on my site to use the Norton Secured Seal?

No action will be necessary by customers currently posting the VeriSign Seal. Symantec will globally change the electronic image that is displayed. The update will be implemented for all sites, wherever the VeriSign Secured Seal or VeriSign Trust Seal is posted today.

Will the new Norton Secured Seal be available in the same graphical sizes and formats?
